A recent National Audit Office report 'Local government and net zero' highlighted weaknesses in the government’s approach to working with local authorities on decarbonisation. This panel discussion brings together one of the authors of that study as well as experts from different perspectives to address how central government can better support local government in the path to net zero. Each panellist will give a short talk summarising their views on the questions before there will be an opportunity for audience questions.

Chaired by Henning Diederichs, ICAEW’s Manager for Public Sector Financial Reporting, this panel will include Jo Wheeler, Senior Sustainability Adviser at UK Green Building Council, Cara Jenkinson, Cities Manager at Ashden Climate Solutions, Katy Losse, the Manager for Environmental Studies at the National Audit Office, and Kate Hand, Head of Climate Change at London Councils.
